What We Do

EVERY child should be able to carry their stuff with dignity

Respect My Stuff wants to support the excellent work that social workers are doing to help children entering foster care. We all want them to know that they are important and cared for by our community at what can be a traumatic time.

We have worked closely with the team of Young Advisors at Doncaster Children’s Services Trust to learn what would help most for a child coming into care. Each bag is a holdall containing comfort items including a fleece blanket, educational items and a photo album among many other things. One type of bag is prepared for primary age and the other for secondary age. These bags are packed and ready for the social workers to grab and go when they need.

It’s hard for anyone to imagine what goes through a child’s mind at what can be a traumatic time. On a much lesser scale, imagine what it would be like not to have your own bag to take your stuff in to school, college?

Please help us to help children coming into care.
